Good start. However, doesn't Asterisk already include safe_asterisk, which should be used to start and monitor the Asterisk process?

safe_asterisk is half broken - it has started working around some of the problems. This little script doesn't even do that. What happens if Asterisk fails to start for whatever reason? You're stuck in a restart storm. And now you have to figure out which process(es) to kill. TzafrirCohen 13:14, 24 July 2007 (PDT)
